Book Review: War Room

I don’t tend to go to the movies a lot, preferring to watch movies at home. At the enthusiastic recommendation of a good friend of mine, I decided to go see War Room, which really surprised my husband. It was amazing! In fact, we enjoyed the movie so much that we decided to see it three times!

When I saw the War Room book, I had to get it. I wasn’t sure how close the book would follow the movie. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Chris Fabry did a wonderful job giving some additional backstory and character developments. I enjoyed it so much that I read it in a day.

For those unfamiliar with the movie, it’s a story about Elizabeth Jordan’s longing for a better marriage and life for her and her family. The financial strain on their family had driven her and her husband, Tony, apart, adding stress to their lives and the life of their daughter, Danielle. The financial burdens caused her husband to do things that he’d later regret and could jeopardize their family’s future. Elizabeth is a real estate agent and she has a divine appointment to sell the house of Clara Williams. I believe you will adore Miss Clara as much as I do. Miss Clara will challenge Elizabeth to do things she’d never considered. She asks Elizabeth to trust God to depths so great that her life will change in ways that she never dreamed possible. The story takes us through the transformation of individual lives and the life of a family.

It’s a powerful story that can transform your prayer life if you allow it to. This book helps us to remember or learn the power and cascading impact of prayer, not only in our lives but the lives of those around us. Get a glimpse of what it means for a prayer warrior to go to battle on their knees, with a prayer strategy, and how to have peace as you fight for victory in different areas of your life.

If you’ve not read it yet, I think you will really enjoy it. I’d recommend War Room for anyone that really enjoys the movie and would like to dive deeper into the lives of these wonderful characters. War Room is filled with great words of faith and reminders us of the power and blessings behind our call to prayer.

Raise up warriors who will fight on their knees, who will worship You with their whole hearts. Lord, call us to battle, that we may proclaim You King of kings and Lord of lords!
