YOU HAVE AN ENEMY.

And he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear. He does it strategically. He does it specifically. He’s doing it right this minute, in fact- aimed at personally drawn targets on your heart, your home, your mind, your life.

And this book, this battle plan, is your chance to fight back. With a weapon that really works. With prayer.

New York Times best-selling author Priscilla Shirer brings her role from the War Room movie into real life, addressing the topics that affect you the most: your identity, your family, your regrets, your pressures, your temptations, your fears, your attitudes, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, cunning intentions against you in all kinds of key areas like these, then coaches you in crafting your own personalized prayer strategies on included tear-out sheets- ready to post them and pray them, anywhere you can put them into active development. Because the truth is: Victories don’t happen by accident.

Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, never-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.

Book Review: Fervent

Fervent is a book that will help you develop prayer strategies. This book is well-written and hard to put down once you pick it up. It is filled with battle plans and prayer strategies for areas of our lives that include: Your Passion, Your Focus, Your Identity, Your Family, Your Past, Your Fears and several others. As I read it, I could feel that Fervent was prayerful and impactfully written. This will be one of those timeless, ageless books that you can read over and over again. Fervent is packed with Scripture to help you get started in praying over many areas that so many of us struggle in.

While we all may not be able to find a place to set up a war room in our homes, Fervent reminds us that it is essential that we find a way to incorporate a battle plan or prayer strategy if we hope for more victories in our lives. I don’t know of many wars that have been won without some kind of battle plan, either in heaven, here on earth or both. The enemy has a strategic way of attacking us, so it’s time we develop our own strategy for fighting back, with God’s Word and prayer.

Would I recommend Fervent? Yes, without any hesitation. This book is a great addition to any library and helpful to believers at any level of faith. Whether you’ve been walking with the Lord for years or minutes, I believe you will find gems in this book that will help you strengthen any area of your life that the enemy is still getting victory in. Perhaps you don’t want to go to the frontlines in battle… The quote at the onset of this book says it all:

Theoden: I will not risk open war.

Aragorn: Open war is upon you, where you would risk it or not.

-The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Through prayer you’ll not only be able to defend yourself from incoming sniper fire but through Almighty God will be able to push into enemy territory and take…stuff…back. Trust me, it can happen.

Something highly important and powerful happens when you put these prayers of yours and these promises of His into words. And into action.
