Book Review: Fatih to Live By
Fatih to Live By is a good book and is easy to read. Derek Prince reminds us of what it means to have faith and the importance of maintaining faith throughout each area of our lives. He reminds us that “faith is in the present, while hope is in the future.” This book will help you to reach new levels of faith, as you search through God’s Word to see what God has done in the lives of others that have dared to put their faith in Him.
Faith to Live By is for anyone that loves to search out God’s Word and study more about faith and what it means to have faith in Him. Knowing that without faith it’s impossible to please God, (Hebrews 11:6), makes me press in to learn all I can about faith and what it means, from a Biblical perspective, to have faith. Faith to Live By gives plenty of examples to draw from, along with Derek Prince’s insights on how we can apply these lessons to our own lives. If you struggle with your faith, trust that “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus,” (Phil 1:6), plus, Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2) I believe you will find this book helpful in learning how to live more by faith.
While I enjoyed reading this book and gleaned a lot from it, there was one section that I struggled with towards the end of the book. It’s a section that covers God’s faith. The Bible tells us, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Derek Prince says, “God’s creative ability proceeds out of His faith. All that He does, He does by faith.” The reason I struggle with this is because God see all things and knows all things, so…He requires no faith, like we, His creation, do. God simply is and He simply does what He needs to do, so there is no faith required on His part. He needs not hope, for He already knows what tomorrow holds, because He IS the one holding tomorrow. He needs no conviction or assurance of things not seen, because He sees it all. God does not do all things out of His faith, but by His Word. That was my one struggle in the book. Perhaps you will view it differently, but that is my take on it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this review and God bless!
Faith lifts us above the realm of our own abilities and make God’s possibilities available to us. Faith connects us to two unseen realities: God and His Word. As we maintain a relationship with God through faith, we are enabled to endured and to overcome the tests and the hardships that confront us in our daily lives. These, in turn, become opportunities for God to reveal His goodness and His glory.
