3-Day Shakeology Cleanse Day 2

Two days done, only one to go, this does go by fast.  If you have never done anything like this before, never done a fast or any kind of cleanse, 3 days can seem like a long time. But if you have, 3 days goes by fast, and when it’s done you’ll be thinking “that was it? That went by so quick”.  What really makes it go by easier is to have the snacks that you’re allowed,  and to try to eat before you get really hungry.

 

Day 2 always seems the toughest

I mentioned before that I have done some cleanses before and some water only fasts before, and it does always seem like the second day is the hardest. On the first day, it seems easy, if you’ve ever missed meals before, the first day will seem easy, it is lower calories than you probably get in a day, but day one usually doesn’t feel that tough. When day 2 comes around, now your body is starting to want those calories that it is used to having, this is usually when you start to “feel” it a little more. However at this point your body is starting to dip into the stored body fat for energy – which is a good thing. Typically by the third day, your body is getting used to this, and it gets easy again. At this point you’re really starting to burn the stored energy (fat) and your body is doing better with less cravings and you are feeling less fatigued. The second day you feel tired and have less energy, but most people notice that on the third day they have a lot more energy and are feeling a lot better overall.

 

My second day

I didn’t really plan this, but it worked out great. I mentioned yesterday that we take Sundays off as a true rest day, well it worked out wonderful because I did feel tired today and I got a ton of rest (some long naps today!). I had the usual cravings, and because of some of the naps today, I didn’t have my meals as close together as I should have and let myself get hungrier than should have. When you get to that point, it’s easy to eat something you shouldn’t, it’s also easy to give in or give up. Try not to let yourself get to that point, but if you do, and you eat something you shouldn’t, it’s not the end of the world, just keep going, put it behind you and keep pressing on. What helped me today was the fruit and having some extra tea (decaf), it just helped me not to feel too hungry. I did push hard in yesterday’s workout and was feeling it all day today, especially this morning, did I mention how happy I am that today was a rest day. 🙂

 

Day three,

That’s it, tomorrow it’s done, and it does go by fast. I’m expecting to have a bit more energy tomorrow and to feel even better. If you remember I didn’t start this to lose weight, I started it because I was getting tired of how I was feeling. Well, I’ve been feeling better than when I started and I’ve already lost weight. This morning when I stepped on the scale, I was 202.6 pounds, that is 3 ½ pounds less than when I started this 2 days ago.  Like I said I didn’t do this to lose weight, but I can’t wait to see what I weigh tomorrow morning and the next day!  So far I’m very happy with the 3 day Shakeology cleanse, and I really should do these more often, at least once a quarter.  I’m currently doing Les Mills Pump but when this is over I think I will do the Ultimate Reset, which is a 21 day cleanse program.  I’ve been hearing some amazing stories of the results people are getting with this and I’d like to try it.
